Taking Flight

Elated to undergo the growth process, interviews and mega project presentations, yet a sorrow of parting the amazing people, of not awaiting the sessions on weekends and not being accountable for the PWs; that’s how the pre-last session felt like. But what actually would the session be about? as we didn’t have any online courses in the prior week to share the learnings and neither we had mega projects remaining to be worked on. Then what else would this session be about?

With these musings, I entered the last session wearing a blue dress and a red scarf (the Amal colors of course). After exchanging greetings and overall reflections of the fellowship, I was quite curious to know that there won’t be any technical things in the session today. And there we started the ‘Scavanger Hunt Challenge’. There were 50 riddles to be solved and taken a selfie with the objects. No wonder how many riddles we solved but it was so refreshing to see the beautiful selfies everybody had taken. You know sometimes we just get so lost into the hustle of life, that we forget to live the moments we have at hand.

Then our Program Manager suggested us to pay gratitude to any of the fellow who we wanted to by drawing a sketch of the person and then telling the reason behind it. Since none of us had professional sketching skills and had mediocre to some very funny sketches (including the one I drew) but the way those sketches evolved when we got to know how much gratitude was filled within, was definitely enchanting. No matter how badly I had ruined the sketch of the person, the gratitude and regard made the person love it. Even the person I drew, loved it so much that he put that as his display picture.

Such is the magic of appreciation and kindness. We as humans long for kindness and being listened to. Especially in present age of hustle and hurtle, greed and egomania, there has been a dearth of warmth and concern. Here at Amal we have learnt to stay kind despite being in the same race.

Our Program Manager then shared with us this cute little being who she had adapted during the fellowship and how she had grown. Luna shared virtual hugs with us for farewell.

A little attempt at resonating the smiles and positive energy that our PM and PA did throughout the fellowship.
